Anaheim Ducks towel invades: Seattle Center Monorail

The Seattle Center Monorail is a one-mile and two-station monorail system that connects Seattle Center to Westlake Center. It was built for the 1962 World's Fair and currently connects to the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel. Near the line's northern terminus, the trains pass through a specially-designed hole in the Experience Music Project building. The system was designated a historical landmark by the city in 2003.

The Pacific Science Center first started as the United States Science Pavilion during the 1962 World's Fair. It was designed by Minoru Yamasaki, who also designed the former World Trade Center towers in New York. It is home to one of the largest Laser Dome theaters in the world.

KeyArena is the former home of the Seattle Thunderbirds of the Western Hockey League and Seattle SuperSonics of the NBA; it is currently home to the Seattle Storm of the WNBA and Seattle Redhawks of NCAA basketball. It was built for the 1962 World's Fair and located near to another icon from the event, the Space Needle. It was heavily renovated between 1994 and 1995.

  • Washington State Coliseum (1962-ca. 1970s)
  • Seattle Center Coliseum (ca. 1970s-1995)

The Space Needle is formerly the tallest structure in the United States west of the Mississippi River and is Seattle's most well-known landmark. It is the centerpiece of the Seattle Center entertainment complex and was built for the 1962 World's Fair.
